Pizza Party

Last Saturday I had a pizza party. I know what you're thinking, LAME! When I think of pizza parties I remember the oily peperoni layered over stringing mozzarella and bland soggy crust. I though, was determined to pull off a hip pizza party.

I think good parties have three things in common: good food, perfected atmosphere and carefully selected guests. The guest part was easy, our french group is small and eveyone in it is great. Atmosphere not hard either, a mix of Coltrane and Miles Davis playing in the back ground and the smell of pizza helped everyone get chatty (but with our group it's not hard). Now for the most important part, the food!

I made the dough from scratch, which isn't as hard as papa johns and pizza hut would like you to believe. I added a few secret seasonings so it wouldn't be bland and cooked the pizzas at 500° on a baking stone so they were the perfect combination of crispy and chewy. As for the toppings I had everyone bring their favorite and I filled in the blanks. We had everything from peperoni and mushrooms to eggplant artichokes and pesto.

We topped off the night with s'more sundaes. Success!

  1. Oh my goodness. That sounds wonderful, not only cuz I'm starving right now, but I haven't had the opportunity to cook ANYTHING in months. Thanks for the pics. I can live vicariously through your culinary enjoyment. Pizza!!! Yum. I can almost smell it.
