you must empty your mind and learn to eat time

I watched 'The Sea Wife' the other day. It's an old movie, not really worth seeing but I can't really start a movie and not finish it. Anyways there was a very memorable quote (for me anyways). The captain of a Japanese sub says: 'You must empty your mind and learn to eat time.' It struck a chord. It's what we're all doing, isn't it? I gave my letters to the elders so they could send them to the different branches I chose to write. Now more than ever I need to empty my mind of all distractions and worries and just let the time pass until I can take the next step. It's driving me crazy but...
